Full disclosure, I listened to the audiobook for this read. As much as I love the story and love Adrian, I have to give the audiobook a bad rating because the narrator has done a very bad job.
All throughout the Vampire Academy series, the narrator has given Dimitri and Adrian accents. I had a problem with Dimitri’s accent because it’s supposed to be “light” and the narrator does a really thick Russian accent. Now in book 4 of the spin off series, they bring on a male narrator now that we get to see Adrian’s POV. All of a sudden, Adrian no longer has an accent and Dimitri’s accent is more accurate to the book’s description.
But for the story, I absolutely love having Adrian’s POV. That peek into his thoughts really adds to my love for him.
The addition of Zoe to the Palm Springs, creates a huge problem. It’s a true testament on how well the story and characters are written that I hate HATE Zoe. She’s such a clingy b****h. My emotions were completely engaged.
There is so much that happens and the ending is so heart wrenching. Poor Eddie. Poor Adrian. And poor Sydney.
