I read this one before knowing it was a spinoff so I had no expectations BUT being a book by Jennifer L. Armentrout, the writer of one of my all time favorite books THE LUX SERIES, I had no doubt I was going to like it.

Trinity is an 18 year old “HUMAN” girl living with a Warden community. Right off the bat, you want to know who these wardens are and why is she allowed there. Trinity has a knack for getting into tight spots and while she isn’t a damsel in distress, she does need some backup. I love her personality and love that she’s such a badass that can kick ass!

As the story develops, you can’t help but like her even more. She has a tough past, her training is grueling, and her special gifts can be hard to handle.

Zayne (who was introduced in the previous series but we know nothing of here) is a smokin’ hott visiting warden that has an immediate attraction to Trinity. I love their back-and-forth in the beginning and I love how their relationship unfolds.

Through the story, we learn of both their pasts and learn that Trin really is a badass that has and continues to overcome hurtles.

I love how Jen brings back the characters from the previous trilogy, which obviously made me want to read those books to fully emerge myself into that world.

I highly recommend it!
