July was the month of the audiobook takeover! I had started a part time job which was intruding on my reading time but I soon figured out that I could be “reading” while there were down times, that’s where audiobooks saved the day.
Also in July I overreached with ARC commitments, fell behind in my reviews, and over-piled my TBR for the month. The biggest thing that got to me was that I was attending the Otherworld event hosted by Book Beau and Owl Crate with Jennifer L. Armentrout, Hafsah Faizal, V.E. Schwab, and E.J. Mellow as the panelist. Being a JLA fan, I’m pretty much caught up with all her books, I’ve also read Hasfah’s The Sands of Arawiya duology but had never heard of E.J. Mellow and had only read 2 of Victoria’s books. Being the pre-planner, and not wanting to feel like I missed out on something, I decided to read up on their books before the event. That didn’t work out too well…
By the time the event came around I was frazzled and disappointed that I didn’t get through all the books and then on top of that I still had my other ARC commitments so safe to say I was overwhelmed. I took a little break from social media to recharge my batteries, put some order to my reading mess, and just enjoy reading.
In those two weeks, I caught up with my commitments, caught up with my reviews, and created a few IG post templates. So I’m back and feeling refreshed and looking forward to see what August has in store!
