Review 
In book 3, Sydney continues to delve into the magical world of witches and she’s not alone while doing so. Adrian is there for anything she needs.
After several red flags and evasive and false answers from the Alchemists, Sydney begins to question how true their mission really is. Especially after she uses her magical skills to find a rogue Alchemist, Marcus, who confirms the corruption within the Alchemists. When Marcus shows her that there can be a way out of the Alchemists, Sydney begins to hope.
What I really enjoyed about this book is Sydney’s awakening. She starts to get out from underneath the Alchemists after she starts to see the truth instead of their rhetoric.
I absolutely ADORE Adrian. He’s the perfect man? Guy? He had such a bad time in VA and the situation with Sydney kills me! But my guy never quits even if it’s harmful to his overall wellbeing. I really do enjoy seeing how much he’s changing, for the better.
Not only does Sydney get close to Adrian, she also starts to see the rest of the group as more than just “dhmapirs” and “Morois” and now sees them as friends.
I love the way that the story doesn’t completely ignore the secondary characters. It does focus on the main characters but it always includes new conflicts or events that bring secondary characters to the forefront.
